Hello analogue photography enthusiasts, I’ve picked up a Revueflex SLR for a bargain price. It’s purely mechanical and in good working order, but the foam rubber cushion
for the mirror is slowly disintegrating due to age. What’s the best way to remove the residual rubber and fit a new cushion strip?
Are replacement parts for this sort of camera repair available in camera shops or elsewhere?
Kind regards, Erhard

Hello Erhard,
Have a look in the marketplace under ‘light seal’. If necessary, ask a specific seller.
Removing the old seal: use a wooden stick (toothpick, etc.) to scrape off any residue. The foam may have been on a film that is stuck to the housing and needs to be peeled off. Otherwise, use various solvents (methylated spirits, petrol – test carefully) to remove the residue.
Regards,
Wolfgang

Hello Erhard,
Wolfgang has already covered all the essentials.
Just a quick addition from me: I use foam rubber for this sort of thing.
You can pick it up for next to nothing at any craft shop, and it really is incredibly versatile.
Best regards,
Klaus
