Hello everyone, The bulb in my Durst M605 (Colour) recently broke. When I went to replace it, I realised that one of the two pins on the bulb had got stuck in the socket. Unfortunately, my attempt to remove the pin from the socket failed, and the socket itself was slightly damaged in the process. Could anyone perhaps help me by telling me which socket I need to replace it and where I might be able to get one? I’ve found a few general options online, but as my knowledge of electrical matters is very limited, I thought that perhaps one of you might be able to give me a reliable tip! Thank you! ...the lamp base is called GX 5.3 and should, in principle, always be replaced at the same time as the bulb. It is important to ensure that the base is also rated for the bulb’s wattage!

Hi Wolf, I’ve had a bit of a look around and made a few phone calls, and I’ve realised that it’s not actually that easy to find a suitable socket. I eventually came across this socket here: https://led-homeshop.de/lampenfassung-mcshine-universal-g4/gx5.3/gy6.35-12v/100w-10cm-kabel But I’m a bit doubtful that it really fits, because the website isn’t a specialist retailer. Does this look right to you (suitable for GX5.3 up to 100W -> so actually compatible with the bulb)? Or do you have any tips on where I might still find sockets like this? ...it’s actually not that easy to find the right sockets these days – I have a Durst Laborator 1000, which has a 250W bulb fitted – so it’s even harder. Unfortunately, I can’t remember where I got the replacement sockets from a while back... It was either on eBay or at Völkner Elektronik

...another option would be to check the spare parts lists for overhead projectors. This type of lamp was also used in the 250W version in those...

This ceramic socket, rated at 100 watts, is available from Pollin for less than a euro, order number 520026. It is described as a "socket for LED or halogen bulbs, G4/G5.3/GY6.35". I ordered several straight away, as halogen bulbs – and therefore their sockets too – are being phased out, and who knows how long they’ll remain in stock.
