Hello
I have a question
I have a 3-litre can of
Tetenal Unicolor Superfix FX-VR
Fixing bath for all C-41 and E-6 processes
Can I use this to fix black-and-white film as well?
And what solution should I prepare, and what is the fixing time for black-and-white film?
Best regards

Hello,
This is likely to be a neutral rapid fixer. It also works for black-and-white films. I would use the dilution ratio specified on the container. You should determine the fixing time by carrying out a test print.
You should also ensure that you rinse thoroughly after development and before fixing, or alternatively use a stop bath, to reliably stop the development process. Otherwise, you risk developing a dichroic fog due to the fixer’s neutral pH value.
Incidentally, neutral fixer is very well suited to baryta photographic paper, as it does not require any acid to be washed out.
