Greetings from Canada,
(I’m using translation software, so please excuse the quality of the language)
I’m really enjoying experimenting with my 30-metre roll of CMS 20 II and various photo developers, and I’ll be trying Adotech 4 soon as well. I was wondering whether using demineralised water (by osmosis) instead of the recommended distilled water could cause problems during the development of CMS 20 II. Demineralised water contains no dissolved ions, but may contain organic contaminants from the plastic bottle, which could potentially alter the properties of the processed film.
On the other hand, is there an advantage to using ‘nanopure’ water for processing CMS (water with a resistivity of 18 megaohms per square centimetre)?
I’m rooting for Adox and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Hello,
A few years ago, my measurements yielded the following conductivity values in uS/cm:
distilled water from the supermarket 3
melted snow 5
osmosis water 10 (new membrane)
rainwater 18
tap water 500
So: a new osmosis membrane removes 98% of the salts from tap water. If I were you, I’d simply test that out. Take two short film clips of the same subject and perform development on one using a developer mixed with distilled water and on the other using a developer mixed with osmosis water. My guess is that if the osmosis membrane is still in good condition, you won’t be able to see any difference.
