Last year, we launched an eco-friendly version of the legendary D-76 developer – ADOX D-76 ECO. With a lower dissolution temperature, a borate-free buffer and Captura dust-binding technology, it offered many environmental benefits. However, we understand that many of our long-standing customers – particularly those who have relied on tried-and-tested formulas for decades – prefer the classic characteristics of the original D-76.
That is why we are delighted to now present a familiar formula under a new name: ADOX D-76 CLASSIC.
For all those who have come to appreciate the D-76 developer produced in Germany until 2022, the D-76 CLASSIC variant offers exactly the same performance, consistency and development times that you have always been able to rely on. You’ll get the same results as with ID-11, the original D-76 or our current D-76 ECO formula – with one key advantage: a longer shelf life for the powder concentrates.
Whilst ADOX D-76 ECO remains an excellent choice for environmentally conscious photographers, we know that longevity matters – especially for professionals and darkroom enthusiasts who value consistency over long periods. The CLASSIC version retains the robustness of the traditional formula and gives you the assurance that your developer will last longer – without compromising on proven quality.
