I bought a second-hand Durst Modular 70 with the Multigrade head (Vario). This has a white-light lever for focusing etc., but unlike on a colour head, it does not provide white light. The filters remain partially in the optical path, whereas on a colour head they are moved completely out of it.
I had a look inside – nothing looks loose, bent or broken. There are adjustment screws that probably haven’t been touched since factory calibration. Threadlocker is still in place and I see no other signs of repair or adjustment.
So, I’m hoping someone in this forum has experience with the Vario head (or similar for other Durst enlargers). Could it be that this is fine, that it was never intended to provide white light? Or is something wrong that I need to adjust?
