Hello everyone... I shot and developed my first roll of HR 50 today. It was a test series: one photo without a red filter and one with, both of the same subject. I used a Praktika Mtl5 and developed the film in Fx39. When I took the film out of the canister, I was surprised. All the shots with the red filter were overexposed, whereas the others weren’t. With Fomaspeed, I was able to salvage something with a 12-second exposure, whereas the ones without the red filter only needed 5 seconds. What could have gone wrong? Why are the shots with the red filter so dense?

Hello, This is a film with extended speed in the red spectrum. How did you determine the exposure? The correct method would be: take a reading without the filter, then put the filter on and increase the exposure by one stop. Best regards

It’s possible that you took the measurement through the filter, and the MTL5’s light meter detected the filter’s density as being stronger than the actual reduction effect on a super-panchromatic film. The MTL5b was my second camera. A pre-production model 😉
