Harman Technology began harmonising the European market in December. In recent weeks, this has meant that in those countries where Harman’s prices have been well below the target list prices for decades, significant price increases have in some cases been necessary. This includes Germany, which has traditionally offered the most competitive low prices within the EU. We, too, have had to make some significant adjustments in recent weeks. However, there is a positive aspect to all this. The old prices were not sustainable, neither for Harman nor for the many smaller retailers. Yes, someone like us or other large mail-order companies could still manage to keep up somehow, but even we were finding it increasingly difficult to keep the entire range in stock when the top-selling items were yielding a gross margin of just 10%. I’m happy to answer any questions on this. We’ve received a few enquiries.
Best regards,
Mirko
