Ilfort Ortho is, after all, colour-blind.
So when the sky is just blue, it appears almost white.
With green subjects – such as gardens, plants and trees, whether leafy or bare – it performs absolutely brilliantly.
Green appears brighter, and the contrasts between different shades of green are sensational.
A green filter on ‘normal’ black-and-white films simply can’t achieve this effect at all.
I’ve compared them and can tell you this:
for nature shots without much blue sky, this film is simply the best choice.
Please develop it in D-76 1:1 as specified by Ilford: 10½ minutes.
