Hello CHS II photographers,
I’d like to develop the CHS II (roll film) in ID 11 1+1, but I have a question about the development time. According to the ADOX data sheet, 7 minutes and 30 seconds is recommended, whereas Digitaltruth suggests 9 minutes.
Who’s right?
Thanks and best regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,
I’m not familiar with the CHS and ID11 mixture, but the times recommended in the ADOX data sheet for ‘Rodinal’ work well, so the others should too!
Besides, I think you have to work out ‘your own’ process anyway; the times mentioned – wherever they come from – can only be approximate values...
The CHS100II is very sensitive to changes in time and temperature, and you’ll either like the results or you won’t.
Best regards,
Michael

Thanks for now,
I think I’ll start with Rodinal and then work my way up to ID 11.
Best regards,

Hi, at a certain point, the development time is really just a matter of achieving the desired contrast. So there’s no right or wrong here. After all, you can control the contrast in the positive process as well.
