Hello everyone,
Where do you send your medium-format negative films for development
– without having prints made?
And does anyone know the price for negative development only?
I don’t intend to develop colour film.
?
Thanks for any advice

Ulrich Hagel in Berlin / Highly recommended – you can also Google Ulrich Hagel; the prints are fine, though there are better places out there, but the development process is brilliant – everything is done by hand, controlled by time rather than heat – for around €4 per film, including VAT ;) You can also send them by post; that’s what I did from Switzerland.

Ulrich Hagel's laboratory can't be found on Google – apologies for the oversight.

Hello!
I’ve just handed in my colour roll films at Müller. It takes about three weeks, costs less than €5 per roll, and you get the unusable prints thrown in for free. With C41, even a large-scale lab can’t go wrong.
Best regards, Thomas

Well, I reckon that a specialist development process is a bit more precise than a mass-produced mix. Jetfoto, for example, offers both options for that very reason.

Photostudio 13 in Stuttgart (~€6 per roll) or the aforementioned Jetfoto (Berlin/Alex) is a good option; or if you don’t actually live in Berlin or Stuttgart and are just curious, don’t have the highest standards and are on a tight budget, you can also hand in your films at DM (Drogeriemarkt) to get started – I think developing a C-41 roll film costs 1.95 euros.
