Patrick I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has experience developing CHS 100 II with Neofin Blaue. Whilst browsing the FOTOIMPEX online shop recently, I read in the description of Neofin Blaue that this developer was specifically designed for the development of single-layer films such as the CHS range, producing particularly high levels of sharpness and fine grain. However, I can’t find any development times for Neofin Blaue in the CHS II brochure, nor on the ‘Massive Dev Chart’ website. € I am thinking of taking my tank with me when I travel, and thought that the packaging of Neofin Blaue in small vials might be practical. € Does the Neofin Blaue description no longer apply to CHS 100 II? € Kind regards, Patrick.
Renate Hello Patrick, Up until now, I’ve always developed the old CHS from the Efke days using Neofin Blaue. I’ve been very happy with the results across the board. I haven’t tested the CHS II yet, as I still have too many old CHS films in my fridge that I want to use up first. Besides, the CHS II isn’t available as roll film yet. The developer table lists FX-39, amongst others, as a suitable developer. That would be a developer with a character similar to Neofin Blaue. However, the packaging of the developer isn’t very practical. Best regards, Renate
Olivinyl Hello everyone, FX-39 isn’t similar in character to Neofin Blaue, but is similar to Neofin Rot and is very close to it! http://forum.fotoimpex.de/index.php?showtopic=3155&p=17151 Best wishes, Oliver
Renate Hello Olivinyl, ? Neofin Rot and Neofin Blaue are identical in character. Neofin Rot was formulated so that even films with high speed could be developed within a reasonable time. Neofin Blaue only works with low-speed films. As the original Neofin Rot is no longer available, you have to switch to FX-39 in this case. However, that doesn’t come with the handy spools. For ISO 100 films, both Red and Blue work equally well.? ? Best regards ? Renate
Patrick Hello Renate, Oliver, thank you very much for your replies and explanations. I really must try out the CHS 100 II / FX-39 and/or the Neofin Blaue combination as soon as possible! € Best regards, Patrick.
