THE COMPETITION
Berlin’s airports are in completely different states: there is the closed and repurposed
Tempelhof, the intact Tegel, and Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, which is still under construction. Each of these airports has a unique history and, in its own way, reflects the highs and lows of aviation. In no other city can the emergence and development of airports be so clearly traced.
Politicians and experts are currently engaged in a heated debate about the use and future of these airports.
With this competition, we are giving you the opportunity to make your artistic viewpoint clear: you may submit documentary, staged or conceptual works that engage with one or more of Berlin’s airports. The best works will be awarded prizes by an international jury and presented in a thematic group exhibition at Projektraum | PhotoWerkBerlin as part of
European Month of Photography
in October 2014. There are also attractive prizes to be won.
THE APPLICATION
Up to 10 works, a project description and a CV (maximum one page each) may be submitted
here
in a single PDF document (resolution 1200 x 800 px) from 1 July 2014. Anyone who presents an interesting photographic perspective on the theme of Berlin’s airports is eligible to participate. The source material may be analogue or digital. There is no application fee.
The closing date for entries is 24 August 2014
THE PRIZES
The three best photographic artists will be invited to take part in the thematic group exhibition TERMINAL at the
[align=left]Project Space | PhotoWerkBerlin in October 2014. The exhibition is an official event of the
European Month of Photography
2014.
In addition to the exhibition, the winners will receive the following prizes:[/align]
