Hello Fotoimpex.
I’d like to say a few words of praise about your shop.
I really admire the staff who work there.
They offer advice with such calmness, even when the place is absolutely heaving, and are always courteous to everyone – even if they’ve been there for the umpteenth time and don’t end up buying anything.
Thanks to a tip from Sabrina, I bought a V 35 with the Leica lens.
As I suffer from cluster headaches, I sometimes get very tense in this sort of situation. When that happens, I sit down at the display table with the business cards and let others go ahead, and everyone leaves me in peace.
It was on just such a day that I also wanted to buy the kit for my first enlargements.
However, Artur advised me to buy the trays and tweezers separately, as he took the time to ask me what I was planning to do and which enlarger I work with.
So all in all, a great deal of trust and pleasure.
I hope these people are properly rewarded for their efforts!!!
Warm regards
Svenninger

Hello Svenninger,
Thank you for your kind words. It’s true that we’re often busy and more staff would certainly be welcome, but we operate in the photography market – one of the toughest and most margin-squeezed sectors there is. Our success is based on three pillars:
1) Extremely competitive prices – our in-store prices are no higher than our online prices –
2) Expert and dedicated advice / a great team
3) An excellent location
Points 2 and 3 are actually difficult to reconcile with point 1. It’s a combination of being subsidised by our mail-order business and a rent that is still relatively low from WBM.
Of course, this is also partly down to our customers, who sometimes search for the cheapest price with ‘alarming determination’.
Against this backdrop, two things can be stated unequivocally:
1) Yes, our staff are well paid in line with the circumstances (industry, financial situation)
2) Compared to the owners of Fotoimpex, they are actually exceptionally well paid (as the owners haven’t received anything for 15 years)
But of course, we’d all be happy to have more – myself included ;-)
Best regards,
Mirko
