MNossi Hello! What do you do with used developer? How do you store it and then dispose of it? Thanks for your replies! Mario
Urnes You can leave the developer to oxidise in the open bottle and pour it down the drain. Fixer is more of a problem because of the dissolved silver. That needs to go to a collection point. To reduce the volume, you can precipitate the silver using zinc powder. You can then pour the liquid down the drain, but the silver sludge needs to go to the hazardous waste collection vehicle. Regards, Sven.
Urnes You’ll need about 1 teaspoon of zinc per 10 litres. If you dip a copper paperclip into the residue, you can tell if there’s any silver left in it. The silver will deposit on the paperclip when it’s dipped in. Regards, Sven
