Hello!
I’m looking for the insert glass for the filter drawer on my Axomat 4.
The background: The Multigrade filter sheets almost always fall through.
Glassmakers? No chance – I ordered three panes, none of them fit. They simply can’t get such small panes cut to the exact size.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks and best regards,
Mario?

Since the drawer is located above the condenser, a homemade grid made from thin wire should work just as well, shouldn’t it?
I’m not sure how big the drawer is on the Axomat, but on my Krokus I always place the ADOX filter sheets on top of the metal frames for the glass, as they’re larger and I don’t want to cut them to size. It works a treat.

Hi Mario,
The glazier doesn’t cut the panes in the traditional sense, but scores them and breaks them, which can lead to inaccuracies.
If the panes are too big, it’s no problem – you can trim them down with a grinding stone; if they’re too small, then you’re out of luck.

Hello Mario,
Glass can easily be cut and ground using a diamond-tipped circular saw blade at low speed with water cooling. However, a standard glazier wouldn’t be able to do this; it’s more the sort of thing someone who makes mirrors, for example, would do. We also had equipment like this in the glassblowing workshop at our university (TU Munich). With a lot of effort and some sandpaper or a knife sharpening stone, you can also finish the edges.
