Hello everyone, Now that Pocket film is thankfully available again, the question of development arises. If anyone still has any leftover Instamatic film, they’ll want it processed. The drugstores Rossmann and dm are not recommended for this; they send their film to Allcop in Lindenberg in the Allgäu region, and Allcop sends the film straight back undeveloped. € It is possible to hand them in at SATURN, which sends its films to the CEWE lab, and they can still process them. Please note that long processing times of at least 2–3 weeks are common in this case. € It is also possible to send them to the ORWO lab in Bitterfeld. Yes, they still exist; they’re now called Pixelnet: http://www.pixelnet.de/getbag/? Even though Pocket and Instamatic films are no longer explicitly mentioned in the price list, they can still process them. € Has anyone managed to find any other labs? Specialist photo labs can certainly still do it – for the right price. That would be too expensive for me. € Best regards AE €

Whether this is truly a blessing for humanity, or whether the growing attention paid to the Lomographers of this world is leading to a massive shortage of resources elsewhere — for the development or at least the continuation of products for people who simply want to take good photos — is a matter of considerable debate. ? But that wasn’t your point :) so perhaps a quick note here (for pocket film users without a Saturn nearby) that ORWO also processes the films you hand in at Rossmann. If, on the other hand, you go to dm, your films ultimately end up at Cewe. Drospa, in turn, works with Fuji. Their suitability for this film format would still need to be checked... even more obvious, by the way: why not hand in your Pocket films here at FOTOIMPEX for developing!
