I’ve been thinking for a long time about whether to get a Polaroid back for my Mamiya RB 67 SD. Being able to take instant photos with this beast would certainly have its appeal. The only thing that has held me back so far is the fear that the last remaining compatible film, the FB 100, will also disappear, leaving me with a back that I can’t use.
That’s why I’m now asking whether there are other ways to use the back. Specifically, I’ve been thinking of the following options:
.) Using Impossible Integral films. I read somewhere online that this is possible in principle, even if it’s a rather tricky procedure. As I understand it, you take a film out of the film cartridge, put it into the Polaback of the RB 67, perform the exposure, put it back into the film cartridge and then have it ejected by a real Polaroid camera. Would that work? Is there an easier way to use the Impossible films somehow?
.) Is it possible to use Fuji Instax Wide film?
.) Is it possible to use Fuji Instax Mini film?
.) Would it be possible to use a cut-to-size sheet film in the Back? Surely you should be able to cut an orthochromatic film quite well under red light, shouldn’t you? In my mind, I’d then at least have a 7 x 7 cm format. So a sort of large square.
.) Is it possible to use cut-to-size photographic paper?
I’d be grateful if you could say something about this.
