I’d like to develop some C-41 film myself again. I’m thinking of using this kit, as it’s great for developing at room temperature. Has anyone ever developed film with it? How many rolls of film can you develop in it?

Hi, I’ve already developed two rolls of film with this kit and achieved very good results. I did adjust the temperature, though not to the standard 38 degrees. As a result, the processing times were a bit longer, which gives you a wider tolerance range. I simply used a tray big enough to hold the canister and three containers for the processing solutions. Apparently, this kit has a very long shelf life. I’ve transferred everything into glass bottles with Protectan. I’m curious to see if it’s still working just as well after six months. Regards, C-Man

When I’m back home at the start of next week, I’ll have a look at what temperature and time I used. I think I set it to 25 degrees. Putting the contents back into the bags is quite tricky, so I got some glass bottles to use instead. They’re just as airtight. You just need to displace the residual air with gas, or use marbles in the bottle, for example. You can simply squeeze the foil bags flat. By the way, I think it’s a real shame that this kit isn’t available from our landlord ;). Regards, Christian

I received the kit yesterday and immediately developed a roll of film at 38°C. Personally, I think this stuff is absolutely brilliant. The film turned out great. Tomorrow it’s the turn of a few rolls of film I’ve been saving up.

Oh. I’d completely forgotten to send you my details. As I said, I set it to 25 degrees to allow for a bit more leeway. That worked a treat too. For the occasional user, this stuff is really brilliant.

Incidentally, I think it’s a real shame that this kit isn’t available from our host ;).
