Hello, friends of darkrooms.
€
As questions about publicly accessible darkrooms keep cropping up on the forums, I think these two projects are well worth supporting.
€
Firstly, there is a campaign called ‘Dunkelkammer gesucht’ (Darkroom Wanted) by HARMAN Technology, which aims to build up a database.

The second project is the ‘Darkroomlocator’, where you can register your own private darkroom and manage it yourself.

Beginners in particular are often grateful for a little help with their first experiments, so they don’t give up in frustration after their very first roll of film.
Why shouldn’t we open up our darkrooms? Depending on the equipment available, we could team up and perhaps even create more space for our hobby together.
€
A nice side effect is making contacts with like-minded people in the local area. These days, the technology isn’t the problem, but often there’s simply no spare room for the hobby, or – particularly for beginners – it’s not yet clear whether they’ll enjoy it at all, so hardly anyone is going to set up a darkroom.
€
I think it’s a good idea and have signed up to both.
