Does anyone know of a source for orthochromatic lith film in Europe? I need it to make silver masks for 8x10 b/w negatives. It’s said to produce very sharp results in lith developer or standard-strength positive developer, and to allow for very soft results in a mild, diluted developer or when using SLIMT. Across the pond at Freestyle, there is the Arista Ortho Litho Film 2. I assume this is a CTF or Camera Lith film. Is this film available in Europe under a different name? After a quick search, I found, for example, the Agfa Alliance CE and the Fujifilm HCS http://www.fujifilm.com/products/graphic_systems/ctf/. Would these films be suitable for my purposes and where can they be purchased? Many thanks for your tips Gerhard

The Rollei ATO is probably what you’re looking for. You might also consider the ADOX Ortho PL (which is likely identical in construction to the Rollei Ortho), though it produces a much softer result as it is a true halftone film. And last but not least, there’s the FO5 from Wephota. This is recommended, for example, by Mr Moersch as an internegative film for fine art printing processes.

I’ve now found a supplier for Agfa Camera CE orthochromatic lith film: Anton Rädler GmbH, based in Nuremberg, amongst others. The following sizes are available there: 24x33/150 €82.68, 30x40/100 €83.52, 35x45/100 €109.62, 50x60/100 €214.20, 61x61m €284.66 + VAT.
