Hello forum,
€
I’d like to sell my BIG TWIN 3 medium-format camera. I bought the camera in Hamburg around 2009 and have used it for photography on and off. It’s actually been sitting unused for the past year, which is a shame for the camera. I wanted to ask you all what the approximate value of this camera might be? It’s in good condition visually (normal signs of wear) and it comes with a brown leather case. I’ve attached a few photos.

I’d be grateful if anyone has any advice. : )
Have a great start to the week and best regards

Hmm... maybe 40? – 80?... but that's just my own personal guess.

Thanks in advance – anyone else?

The BIG Twin3 ended up costing €150.
I reckon €80–100 on eBay is a realistic price.
But there’s always someone out there willing to overpay, so with a bit of luck, a slightly higher price might well be possible.
…
Best regards,
Wolfgang

Hi Philip,
The Big Twin is identical in construction to the Seagull (the Big Twin is apparently a revised version with any weaknesses ironed out)
and the Revue. Just have a look at a few Seagulls on eBay and add them to your watch list, then you’ll get an idea of the prices.

I’m not familiar with the Seagull, but I’d be very surprised if it had a fixed focus.

This isn’t a fixed-focus camera, but a decent twin-lens model in terms of design. I used to have one, also made by Brenner. Unfortunately, quality control was poor at the time of production in China. It developed three different (!) faults within the warranty period, so I ended up selling it at a considerable loss. But there’s no point in lugging around an unreliable camera.
If someone has used a camera like this for a few years and nothing has jammed, got stuck or gone haywire, then it’s perfectly usable. Mine had very high sharpness (Tessar type), but was slightly more sensitive to stray light than Cord/Flex.
