We filled the "large" tank (a former Agfa test unit, 30 litres) with our first batch of Polywarmton emulsion and processed it until it was ready for use.
The astonishing result was that our "big" tank works even more precisely than the small pilot tank.
Normally, precision decreases as the tank size increases, as mixing is easier in smaller tanks.
However, the Agfa pilot filling plant works so precisely that we had to adjust the parameters.
The downside is that we had to carry out another filling (costing €1,500 for silver nitrate each time); the upside is that we can now run the formula more precisely, as we know more about it.
?
Next comes the evaluation of the fillings. As digestion and sensitisation take a day, this is painstaking work.
You can only read a result once everything is finished, and we have to carry out almost 50 trials.
?
To this end, we also need to improve our trial casting set-ups in a further step.
