Hello,
Is there a minimum quantity specified? I read here: 2 rolls of 120 film in a 600 ml tank. That would be 60 ml of concentrate at a 1:9 dilution. What about a higher dilution? Can you use less than these 60 ml (30 ml per film), and if so, down to what amount?
I’m not trying to save money; I’m just concerned about the capacity of my developing tanks.
Happy New Year and best wishes!

Below is the relevant extract from an older (Paterson) instruction manual. According to this, even when preparing small batches, one simply needs to adhere to the dilution factor; there is no absolute minimum quantity of concentrate required.

[...] Higher Dilutions
Diluted at 1+14 (e.g. 20ml makes 300ml) Useful
when films with very short development times are
quoted.
Extend development time by 50%.
Diluted at 1+19 (e.g. 15ml makes 300ml).
Extend development time by 100%
This provides a compensating developer, one which
tends to exhaust in the negative highlights, thus
limiting highlight densities on subjects of very high
contrast and with overexposure, whilst maintaining
good shadow densities. The drawback of
compensating developers is a tendency to
compress the mid-tones. [...]

Thank you very much for your help,

In your opinion, what dilution would be best to start with for the following films: Ilford Pan F Plus and FP 4 Plus? I imagine that a slightly higher dilution might be appropriate, particularly for the Pan F.
