Hello photography enthusiasts,
Is paper-weight photo paper – i.e. very thin photo paper – still available these days? Is it still produced by any of the few remaining manufacturers, or is it sold by any retailers in Germany? Can anyone here give me a tip?
OrWo used to produce a lot of paper on thin stock. However, this was probably more down to a shortage of raw materials.

No, that was down to a lack of space. There were no photocopiers – so we ‘copied’ onto photo paper. That’s actually why double-sided photo paper was available.
The backing paper is no longer available. We’ve still got some 180g backing paper in stock, but it keeps tearing on the machine – so it’s not really going to work.

Hello Mirko, thank you very much for the information!

Hello,
You can still buy brand-new, heavyweight, fixed-grade baryta paper from Banse und Grohmann in Werningerode. I use it regularly – it’s an excellent paper! It’s probably made in Russia.
Best regards,
Thomas
