Hello everyone!
First of all, a Happy New Year to you all and all the best for 2013!
Having just been a silent reader for a long time, it’s time for my first post.
A quick word about me: I live in the Allgäu, I’m in my mid-forties and have been taking photos since I was a teenager. I started out in black and white, developing my own film even back then. Unfortunately, over the years it was never really a serious pursuit. In recent years I switched to digital, but I’m now increasingly frustrated by the obsession with absolute perfection and constant upgrading.
My resolution for 2013: to get back into the darkroom and print analogue photos on baryta paper.
I also want to test my developing process.
My question to forum members now:
is there still a supplier/retailer in Germany for the Kodak HT-2 test solution or a comparable, ready-made test kit? (despite hours of searching, I haven’t found a German supplier, and making it myself is impossible due to lack of access to the necessary chemicals).
Many thanks in advance for any helpful tips!
Gerd

Hello Gerd, and Happy New Year.
I’m not aware of any source for the ready-made solution either.
The only supply issue, however, is likely to be the silver nitrate. If you don’t have any luck with chemical suppliers, perhaps you could ask the host here for a source.
Best wishes from the Württemberg part of the Allgäu!

Alternatively, you could ask Wolfgang Moersch:

Hello!
I’ve just had this trial solution made up by my trusted chemist.
Based on the original recipe (found online), he gave me 100ml in a nice little bottle with
a pipette. It cost around €10.
Best regards,
Mario
