I’ve just had to rub my analogue eyes in disbelief whilst reading Heise’s digital coverage.
Jobo is planning to launch a new CPP just in time for Photokina, having survived bankruptcy. This is apparently a refreshed CPP2 processor. Although it is pictured without a lift, I don’t think that does it any harm for the time being, as this CPP3 – which is certainly not exactly cheap – will still enable the usual workflow in the lab without the fear of premature processor failure and thus the end of all processes taking hold.
Despite Kodak’s major problems in the photography sector, the resurgence of a hardware manufacturer for the consumer market could shed some analogue light at the end of the digital darkness, showing that all is not yet lost – for both black-and-white and colour!
