Hello, I recently bought a Gossen Profisix for 30 euros on a photo forum. When I got home and put the battery (9V block) in, nothing happened at first (not even the battery test button worked). So I opened it up and had to solder the power cable to the circuit board. While opening it up, I (as I realised afterwards) decalibrated all the potentiometers, because I thought they were screws that I needed to loosen to open the casing :rolleyes: Now the device does respond to light, but it’s completely out of calibration. Sending it in is apparently quite expensive, and after tinkering with it so much, it must be possible to calibrate the Profisix myself. Does anyone know how to do that? Many thanks, Andreas

...so if you can't tell a potentiometer from a screw, I very much doubt that a DIY calibration attempt would be successful...

Hi Andreas, Unfortunately, Gossen has discontinued the Profisix and the Lunasix. This means that no further support can be expected from the manufacturer. Best regards, Stefan

I mean, at some point there was a discussion on the old Phototec forum about calibrating the Lunasix, possibly with some direct guidance. Perhaps the Profisix is similar to the Lunasix in terms of its potentiometers, and maybe you’ll be able to find that post.

Unfortunately, Gossen has taken the Profisix – and the Lunasix too – out of service.

At the end of last year, I spoke to a Gossen employee who handles repairs about the Profisix. Both he and Gossen’s website list it as repairable! http://www.gossen-photo.de/foto_s_reparierbar.php As a rough estimate for my problem, he quoted me just over three times the price that Andi83 paid, which, all things considered, should be quite acceptable for the device.
