I’ve got a bit of a problem with my Durst Labrador 1200. The unit has a Femobox 45 and a 150mm lens. With this setup, the unit illuminates a rectangular area, just as it should. However, when I want to enlarge a 35mm negative and fit a 50mm lens (to make larger prints), the illuminated area becomes round and gets darker at the edges. It doesn’t matter which lens plate I use. It didn’t work even with the Femobox 69. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

Did you place the 35mm negative masks on the stage to reduce the frame, or are you surprised that the 50mm lens only covers the centre of your 4x5" stage (which is, after all, all it can do...)?

Hi Mirko,
Thanks for pointing that out – that must be the problem. Unfortunately, I don’t have any negative holders. I place the negative between two pieces of glass, and it’s quite difficult to get it exactly in the middle.
