Hi everyone,
I’ve just got a rather well-used Thermaphot 302v sitting next to me. I’m really keen to use it to run my darkroom on RA-4 as well, but there’s still quite a bit to do before I can get started. The machine is pretty filthy and encrusted with limescale. It’s been sitting idle for a few years and is now finally ready to be put back into service.
I have the following questions:
- What’s the best way to clean the rollers, tank, etc.? How do I get the developer/black liquid residue out of the filters?
- Does Thermaphot still exist? Nobody answered the phone there today – or where might I find spare parts?
- Who has experience with ACPs? Is there anything I should watch out for after such a long period of inactivity?
Kind regards, Karsten

I have the same machine. It’s best to clean it with warm, clear water and use Jobo Processor Clean once every six months. Do you still have the manual for the machine? It’s all in there. If you need them, I can send them to you. They’re 300 MB as a PDF file, though. I’d uploaded them to a file-hosting site on another forum once, as there was a lot of interest. Or you could simply give Mr Kämmerl (the machine’s builder) a ring.

What was your experience of working with Mr Kümmerl?
Remove limescale with diluted citric acid. Are the rubber rollers still in good condition?
