To be honest, I’m a complete layman in this area; I can’t assess where
in film production (or other areas of Efke’s operations) there might be
potential for environmental conflicts (raw materials used, emissions, waste management, health and safety, etc.),
My only concern was that they might still be using older equipment and older processes there,
which might not meet certain EU standards, meaning that investments would be necessary
that Fotokemika might not be able to afford, so that we would eventually
be left without Efke films... As I said, I’m a layman and can’t judge
how problematic or unproblematic film production is from an environmental perspective, but
we’re all familiar with the EU’s zeal for regulation in other areas...
