Thanks, Franz, that was actually my next idea.
One more question: I’ve got a baker’s drying press. I thought I’d try drying them to a high gloss. They do shine – but it’s not even. If you look at them at an angle against the light, it looks streaky with faint speckles. Hard to describe. It looks quite uneven.
I’m also lacking the experience to know what sort of result to expect. Is that a sign that I didn’t press hard enough with the pressure roller? If anyone has a link where I can read up on it a bit more, I’d be grateful. The specialist literature I have is very vague on the subject.
Regards, Klaus
Hello Klaus,
There are already quite a few threads here in the forum about the Bäcker, particularly with regard to the reference for high-gloss drying. I myself gave up after countless attempts and now only dry against a cloth, which I actually prefer. I haven’t seen a single baryta print dried to a perfect high gloss so far.
Regards
Marc
