MirkoBoeddecker Ilfochrome materials will increase in price by 30% on 25 November 2011 (paper/film only, not chemicals). Anyone who needs supplies at the moment should stock up today and tomorrow so that we can still place the order at the old price. Best regards, Mirko
cfb_de Is there any truth in the rumour that Ilfochrome is being discontinued? No, that’s not a rumour but a fact. See here: http://photoscala.de/Artikel/Das-Ende-von-Ilfochrome-Classic Best regards, Franz
thomas_l Blimey, I mean, Ilfochrome was bloody expensive anyway, but it was good and easy to use. The next question would be whether they could bring back R3 paper ;-)
AchimBauer Is Franz’s link factual, or was it just a threat to force higher prices? It would be a shame if Ilford could just make a definitive statement on this, It would be a shame if Ilfochrome were to disappear (I’m surprised no one has used the word ‘Adochrome’ yet) I myself have no need for Ilfochrome at the moment, nor will I in the near future; I’ll be glad if I can stick to my plan to start up my black-and-white darkroom again at the end of this year. But I still have so many colour slides that deserve better than to lie dormant in boxes or be scanned and printed only to fade after a few weeks. That’s just the advantage of digital photography: you don’t need expensive raw materials to process the film, which you have to offer at affordable prices; you can process cheap raw materials into ink and achieve profit margins that would make the drug trade green with envy. Regards, Achim PS: Argenta once made a black-and-white paper with Cibaglanz, but that’s history too.
