Kaliumpermanganat im Handel ist mittlerweile so stark mit Braunstein inhibitiert, dass es erheblich an Reaktivität einbüßt.

Vielleicht liegt es auch daran, bei selbstgemachtem Blitzpulver macht sich das unschön bemerkbar.

Ansonsten würde ich auf die Empfindlichkeit des Bleichbades spekulieren.
